If your not familiar with Stitch Fix, it’s a personal shopping service that shops for you and delivers five pieces of clothing and/or accessories to your door. You can schedule your deliveries monthly or whenever you choose. The charge for the monthly styling fee is $20. If you decide not to keep anything, you send it back in a prepaid envelope and are charged the styling fee. If you keep one or more pieces, the $20 styling fee is credited towards your purchase and if you purchase all five pieces, you receive a 25% discount. You can check out Stitch Fix yourself by clicking my referral link here.
I took advantage of Stitch Fix’s waived styling fee offer this month and sent a note to my stylist requesting a pair of mint colored jeans and summer tops. Here’s what I got in my fix:
#1 Skies are Blue Bacup Lace Shoulder Knit Top $48
#2 Market & Spruce Char Geo Print Maxi Skirt $58
This is not your basic tank top! The material is a soft knit and has lace detail on the shoulders and across the back. I loved the bold orange color and had a hard time deciding if I should keep or not.Verdict: Returned.
This skirt was super comfortable and the orange and blue geometric print was fun for summer! I love a good maxi, but I recently picked one up at a Lu La Roe pop-up boutique and it didn’t make sense to add another one so soon. Verdict: Returned.
#3 Pixley Mirado Lasercut Detail Blouse $58
#4 Mavi Hattie Skinny Jean $98
Another cute tank top and this one was flowy and had a high/low hem. The cobalt blue was striking and I loved the laser cutout detail. The $58 price tag was a little high for this piece so this one went back too. Verdict: Returned.
I kept seeing Mavi jeans in the mint color on Pinterest and specifically requested them. Instead I was sent a light denim wash. Mavi jeans fit me so well, and even though I was disappointed that they didn’t send them in the mint color, I can’t pass up a good fitting pair of jeans! Verdict: Kept.
#5 Brixon Ivy Mistral Cold Shoulder Tunic $88
#4 Mavi Hattie Skinny Jean $98
I’m probably the last person to jump on the off-the-shoulder bandwagon and was so excited to receive this top! I loved the lace detail, tunic length and the straps made it easy to wear. It was a little scratchy but was so pretty! As much as I wanted to keep it, I couldn’t justify spending $88 on a shirt. Verdict: Returned.
There you have it, another Stitch Fix box revealed! The total of all five items was $350.00 and if I purchased all five, I would have received a 25% discount bringing the total down to $262.50. I have to say, if I had received another top instead of the maxi skirt, I may have considered splurging on the whole lot. But on the other hand, that would have tapped into my clothing budget for fall so I guess it wasn’t meant to be!
