I made it through week 2 of the April Style Confessions Challenge that is being hosted by Sequins & Style and That’s So Crystal. My personal challenge is to do this without buying anything new. My clothing budget is minimal so my goal is to style all of the outfits with items already in my closet.
Dupe of a Deal
I’ll let you in on a secret. Years ago I was making a purchase at Banana Republic and applied for their credit card. The card is actually a Visa and you earn $1 reward for every $1 spent. Sometimes there are double and triple point promotions. We charge our groceries, gas, etc. and pay the bill every month. Almost every month I earn a $10 – $30 reward that can be used at Old Navy, Gap, Banana Republic, Athleta and Piperlime. The outfit below cost me less than $15 by using rewards and promotion codes (yes, including the Hunter boots!).

Spots & Dots
I love this outfit with the grey and brown color combo. I have not worn this jacket in years. The sleeves are knit like a sweater so it’s comfortable and I don’t feel too dressed up.

Bit of Prep in Her Step
When I think of preppy, I think of Lacosste polo shirts, oxfords, plaid jackets and penny loafers. I don’t really have anything preppy in my closet so I wore this polo shirt and my daughter’s floral Keds. This was a hard one and I’m still not sure if this classifies as preppy.

Do You Have the Time?
This is an Instagram challenge so my daily pic does not necessarily have to be of me in an outfit. I was initially going to snap a picture of my wrist with my watch and bracelets but when I was doing laundry, I discovered my daughters London Big Ben tee and decided to wear it instead.
Shirt: Delia’s
Scarf: Charming Charlie/Similar
Tank: Old Navy

Good Morning Sunshine
Another sweater and top I have not worn in ages. This is my favorite outfit this week. It’s bright and cheery and kept my spirits up when the temperatures went from 75 degrees and sunny to 40 degrees and rainy.

Week 2 accomplished and with 3 items I had forgotten about and had not worn in ages! What great pieces do you have in your closet that you have forgotten about?
