Everyday Style – What I Wore

It’s finally May, but with the fluctuating weather, it was hard to know what to wear the past several days. I’m following three Instagram challenges this month. Two of them have daily outfit themes. The other is a shopping ban. I thought it would be fun to try coordinating the two themes together and since I have most of my summer staples, the third might be easy. Here is a recap of what I wore the past several days.

Thursday

For it being May 1st, it sure was cold outside. I only followed one theme and it was Make a Statement. I wore a red floral statement necklace and mixed prints with the floral shirt and animal print flats.

Friday

The themes were Safari Chic and Mint to Be. At first I was not sure if I would be able to pull this one off. I wore a mint and gray striped shirt, gray cargo pants, and animal print flats. Mission accomplished!

Monday

Happy Cinco de Mayo! Both themes were related to this holiday so I wore red and turquoise jewelry, a printed top and my aztec Toms. The only thing I missed was having a margarita at the end of the day.

Tuesday

I am always happy to head downtown for a work meeting. I always feel energized when I’m in the city. Sometimes I miss living right in the heart of things but we can always move back in a few years. The themes were Neon Nancy and Pretty Little Layers. I had to be creative and choose bright colors to compensate for the lack of anything neon in my closet. It was cold in the morning but warmed up in the afternoon so the layers were perfect.

Wednesday

The themes this day were Pinterest Inspired and The Mane Event. My Pinterest Inspired look is below with my recreation. I wore white jeans, brown belt, a white sweater that has a pink underlay and pink statement necklace. I was playing with my daughter’s curling wand and this was the result for The Mane Event. What do you think?

Thursday

I realized I need to start planning ahead and look at the themes for the week in advance. Today’s theme was White Out and My Favorite Things which could have been yesterday’s outfit. So today I wore white again, a favorite necklace and my favorite spring color, mint.
