We’re lucky to have a covered porch surrounded by tall bushes and secluded from the street. In the summer, it gives you the feeling of being in a treehouse. In the fall, I try to cozy it up. Our porch has been decorated for fall since Labor Day weekend, but I wanted to wait until October, when I added some Halloween decor, before I shared it with you. Let’s get started with my fall porch tour!
Hang a Festive Wreath on Your Porch
Nothing says “welcome” like a wreath, and I swap mine out every season. My fall wreath stays up in September and November. In October, I replaced it with a Halloween wreath. If you need some inspiration and easy DIY tutorials, check out my Fall Buffalo Check Wreathย and Easy Halloween Raven Wreath.
Decorating Your Porch with Flowers
Flowers are an easy and inexpensive way to add festivity to your porch. I ran into Home Depot to pick up some lightbulbs and was surprised by how vibrant their mums were. They were also only $2.50 each!
Add Some Halloween Decor
Our porch stays decorated for fall through Thanksgiving. In October, I added a little Halloween decor. Trick-or-treaters are pretty scarce in my current hood, plus as our daughter got older and less interested, we don’t decorate like we used to.
I usually get these little hay bales from Michaels or Walmart. A few years ago, I had several and removed the plastic. The birds had a field day using it to build their nests, and it was gone in a matter of days. Lesson learned!
Walmart has stepped it up with its seasonal decor. These throw pillows were on sale for $5!
As you can see, my fall porch tour is a little different from last year!ย Thank you so much for joining me!
I hope you enjoyed my fall porch tour, and it gave you some inspiration for some cute and cozy ways you can decorate your porch!
As always, thank you for reading!
