Things I Loved in April

Hello friends! It’s the last Wednesday of the month and time to link up with Shay and Sheaffer for this month’s What’s Up Wednesday! The prompts are highlighted, so if you’re a blogger, check it out and join the fun; if not, I’d love it if you participated in the comments! Here’s what’s up this past month!

What We’re Eating

Quiches are easy to make and a good weeknight staple. I like this spinach and bacon recipe. I also can’t seem to get enough comfort food, and crockpot chicken and dumplings are always good. On a healthier note, this rosemary chicken, bacon, and avocado salad is delicious!

What I’m Reminiscing About

We put all of our belongings into storage and moved in with family at the end of March. Our lease was up, and our plan is to move to a warmer climate. Obviously, that’s on hold since we can’t travel to figure out where, but I’m so glad we are living in our old neighborhood where our daughter grew up. We actually live directly behind the house we sold 5 years ago so she could go to a different high school. Even though we have to social distance right now, I’m so happy to be back in the hood with all of my friends. And, luckily we have the technology to hang out virtually!

What I’m Loving

For the past week, I’ve been trying out BIOEFFECT EFG Plumping and Firming Serum, and EFG Eye Serum from SkinStoreand my skin is loving it! What is EFG? It stands for Epidermal Growth Factor, and the brand has replicated it in barley. Clean ingredients are important to me, and these plant-based serums spark your skins renewal process boosting the production of collagen and rebalancing your skins moisturize levels, providing long term anti-aging effects! I can see a noticeable difference when I wake up in the morning. My face looks hydrated, and my skin feels smoother! The under-eye puffiness is gone, and I look less fatigued! I’m excited to continue to use these and share my results with you!

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, these would be the perfect gift for the mother figure in your life! Get 25% off at SkinStore with code JILL.

What We’ve Been Up To

My friend Andrea did a How Well Does He Know You blog post a few weeks ago and shared the questions for this fun Q&A. I got my husband to play along, and for the most part, he answered correctly! Here’s what he said:

What is something I say a lot? Make me a mimosa

How tall am I? 5’4″

What do I do when I’m not with you? Shop (I disagree and say blogging or reading)

What is my favorite movie? Love Actually

If I could go anywhere, where would I go? Paris

How do I annoy you? You don’t (haha good answer!)

What is my favorite TV show? Twilight Zone

Who is my celebrity crush? Mark Walhberg

You get a phone call that I’m in trouble, who am I with? my mom

What do I hate? COVID and being quarantined

What is something I love to eat? Cheetos. What is my favorite drink? Moscow Mule

What gets my temper going the most? Technology

What is my shoe size? 9

Three words to describe me? My best friend (aww! he’s the sweetest!)

Side note: I don’t really have a favorite TV show, but I do love the old ones from the late ’50s/early ’60s like Twilight Zone, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, and Bewitched!

What I’m Watching

We finished The Stranger on Netflix, and I have a few episodes left of Dead to Me. I’m currently watching The Biggest Loser and Project Runway with my daughter. If you need some binge-watching ideas, I rounded up some of my favorite shows in this post.

  8. What a fun quiz to give your spouse and to share with your readers! I copied that salad recipe – it looks delicious and I have a mass of rosemary in my backyard. Those Bioeffects EFG serums are really intriguing and I’m marking them so I can go back and have a closer look. You look so cute in all of your outfits and I know what you mean about the weather bouncing back and forth. I think it’s settling here in North Texas but we still get a bit cool in the evenings. Thanks so much for sharing all the good stuff!

  14. I did those questions with my husband, too and I need to post them still. I love the 3 words one where he said my best friend. 🙂 I haven’t had a quiche in awhile and my favorite breakfast place where I usually get them in closed. I need to make a couple and freeze one for later!

  16. I didn’t remember you had moved in with family. I’m glad you’re enjoying the old ‘hood! I didn’t hop over and look at the quiz when Andrea did it, it looks like fun–I think I’ll ask Steve his answers tonight–haha!

  17. Our weather has been all over the place too. I just love how easy it is to pull a quiche together and with so many different things you can mix in there is an endless variety!

  21. How well did your husband do? Love Actually is my favourite movie too – it’s funny and sweet at the same time, perfect for Christmas! And I am loving the sound of that serum – isn’t it the best when you find something that just works?

  22. When I asked my hubby what is something I say a lot it was, “I can’t deal with this!” Haha! Being with the kids so much sometimes they get the best of me and I need a break! The Bioeffect products sound amazing! Anything to make me less tired!

  23. I didn’t realize you had moved in with family in March. I knew your photos looked like you were in a different location or in the front yard and not the back yard, maybe. Hope this cloud soon lifts and we can get on with plans we had made.

Pinned the chicken and dumplings recipe. Have been making one similar. Always glad to have another version.

Love the soft blue sweater on you and that photo is especially pretty. Cute maxi dress, too. Looking forward to reading your jogger post. I have 3 pairs and really don’t like them on me. Hope to be inspired!!

  24. Homegirl. How ironic such a harmless T-shirt slogan now has become.

  25. This is such a great round-up post! I love that fun quiz and I’m going to try the cheesy spinach and bacon quiche recipe !
