Things I Loved In June

Hello friends! It’s the last Wednesday of the month and time to link up with Shay and Sheaffer for this month’s What’s Up Wednesday! The prompts are highlighted, so if you’re a blogger, check it out and join the fun; if not, I’d love it if you participated in the comments! Here’s what’s up this past month!

What We’re Eating This Week

My next door neighbor and I have a Friday happy hour tradition where we set up our lounge chairs in our driveways after work and enjoy a glass (or two) of wine. I usually make a charcuterie board to go with it!

Made in the South of France,Panier des Sens(translates to basket of senses), is a sustainable body and personal care brand. Their formulas are rich in raw materials and essential oils and are free of parabens, phenoxyethanol, silicone and aluminum. They sent me 3 products from their renewing grape collection; body scrub, dry body oil and hand cream. They smell lovely and leave your skin silky smooth. You can get a FREE 30 ml renewing grape hand cream with any purchase on their site with code JILLXPDS.

Did you see my review of Halftee in my Insta stories? Halftee is exactly that, half of a tee shirt that gives you a layered look without the extra bulk. The fabric is lightweight, soft and breathable and It doesn’t ride up. They have a variety of sleeve lengths, styles and color choices and run true to size. Use code JILL20 for 10% off!

What We’ve Been Up To…

There’s nothing better in the summer than eating outdoors and we went to a restaurant for the first time since being quarantined this past weekend and dined al fresco with friends. The weather was perfect and I felt completely safe. The waitstaff were all wearing masks and tables were 6 feet or more apart. Even though there is a time limit on your table, we didn’t feel rushed.

What I’m Watching/Reading…

I mentioned last month that with the library closed, I’m way behind on my reading goals this year. I’ve never been able to get used to reading on a device and like hold a book in my hands. I was pretty excited when our library opened up online holds and curbside pickup last week. I rode my bike over and picked up six books and have already finished two!

Meet Me in Monoco is set in the 1950s in the French Riviera around Grace Kelly’s romance and wedding to Prince Rainier of Monaco. Chased by the paparazzi, James Henderson, Grace ducks into perfumer, Sophie Duvals, shop and they form a bond and friendship that lasts the rest of their lifetimes. The character’s relationships intertwine and James and Sophie develop a friendship that turns into romance also. If you’re a fan of historical fiction, you’ll enjoy this. But, I do wish there was more of a focus on the history and story behind Grace than the other characters.

Little Fires Everywhere is the story of the Richardson Family, an affluent family living in the planned town of Shaker Heights, a suburb of Cleveland. When Mia, a single mother, and artist arrives with her teen daughter, Pearl, their lives merge and eventually clash. Now that I’ve read the book, I want to watch the Hulu series.

What I’m Wearing…

With temps in the 80’s, I’ve mostly been reaching for dresses. I think they’re more comfortable and easier to wear than shorts. I’d love it if you followed me on Instagram and LIKEtoKNOW.it, if you’re not already, where you’ll find more outfit inspiration!

What Else is new…

Adding an accessory as a completer piece always changes up the look of an outfit. Make sure to read my post on 5 Summer Accessories You Need in Your Closet. I partnered with Simply Earth Essential Oils again this month, reviewing their June Essential Oils Recipe Box. If you love essential oils this is a fun monthly subscription box! On Thursday, I’ll be back styling a black jumpsuit 3 ways for my Thursday Fashion Files linkup with Carrie. I hope you’ll come back and linkup with us!

As always, thank you for reading! Stay healthy and safe!
