How’s the weather in your neck of the woods? It’s still in the ’80s here in the midwest, and I’m not mad about it. I never want summer to end. But, I do have to say that my favorite season for fashion is fall. And, part of me wants to start wearing comfy sweaters, cozy layers, and of course, boots. So while I’m still wearing sundresses and rompers, today I wanted to talk about three fall fashion trends that you’ll want to add to your closet.
Many cool styles are trending for the fall 2022 season, and as a cabi Ambassador, I thought it would be fun to incorporate a few of my favorite trends with the cabi fall collection. Kat Woodside, cabi’s Chief Design Officer says, “the best clothes for Fall ’22 are pieces to live in, reflecting your personal style and beauty. And the tone for the new season is all about a balance between playful sophistication and easy swagger”.
cabi’s mission is to empower women to feel confident when they walk out the door every day, and that’s something I can get behind 100%. I’ve found that their pieces are easy to mix and match with what you already have in your closet, and that makes adding new trends into your wardrobe foolproof. Ahead you’ll find three fall fashion trends I’m excited to try, complete with shopping links and styling tips.
Fall Fashion Trends to Try
1 – Pastels
What comes to mind when you think of fall colors? For me, it’s burgundy, olive, and mustard. This fall, you’ll see more pastels in shades of blue, pink, yellow, and green. So while the temps are dipping outside, you might be thinking about skipping ahead to spring. The key to wearing pastels in the fall and winter is to pair them with a dark neutral like black, grey, or tan.
cabi’s sky blue Frosty Pullover sweater invites a breath of fresh air into your darker fall and winter wardrobe. This textured knit feels like a warm hug and will keep you cozy, chic, and on-trend. I styled it here with black denim. It would also pair well with dark-colored trousers, cargo pants, or a satin skirt. Cargo pants are another big trend this fall, and so is satin, which leads me to #2.

2 – Satin
Gone are the days where satin was reserved for pajamas and formal attire. I’ve worn satin cami’s, skirts, and dresses for years, but in the past few seasons, it’s branched out to blouses, trousers, and more. It continues to trend this fall, and you’ll see it in tops, bomber jackets, two-piece sets, and trousers. The lightweight fabric feels luxurious, soft, and effortless to wear. And it has a gorgeous sheen that will give your outfit a little extra oomph.
cabi’s Crosstie Pullover is a next-level designer piece. I love the uniqueness of mixed media, and on the back, you’ll find a ribbed sweater knit, and at the front is a luxe satin fabric with a tie detail at the waist. It features a crew neckline and hits at your natural waist. It’s perfect for pairing with patterned pants, high-waisted denim, or joggers. And, if you’re worried about staying warm when winter hits, I’ve got you covered with #3.

3 – Cozy Coats
A new coat is an easy way to update your fall wardrobe. On the runways this fall season, you’ll find statement coats with fun patterns and a variety of silhouettes and bold colors. One of my favorites from the cabi collection is their Evita Coat. With the dopamine dressing trend still going strong, the bold red checkered pattern is a great way to boost your mood on a cold fall day.
The midwest weather can be hit or miss in the fall, and this fully lined coat with a self-tie closure will nip you in and keep you warm and cozy. cabi is known for the details in their designs and the brass hardware, and an asymmetrical, oversized shawl collar makes this coat a true showstopper.
