Are Tieks Worth It? Comfortable Flats Review

Raise your hand if you’re as shoe-obsessed as I am! And raise it again if you’ve heard of Tieks. They were featured as one of Oprah’s favorite things several years ago and have developed a cult following ever since. Tieks ballet flats are known for their comfort, durability, and versatility, and you can usually spot them because they have a signature teal blue sole. Tieks contacted me recently and asked if I was interested in reviewing a pair of their ballet flats. I’ve always read a lot of hype around them, so I was intrigued to see if they were as comfortable as everyone says and worth the higher price tag.

Whether you are looking for a classic color, a metallic, a patent, or a fun print, Tieks has you covered. You’ll find their classic ballet flats in 70 different prints and colors. Made from high-quality, full-grain Italian leather, Tieks have a cushioned insole that provides support for all-day wear and a split rubber sole that ensures flexibility and comfort. I’m happy to report that they also have vegan options. Oh, and they also have flats for girls.

The key feature of the Tieks classic ballet flat is that it is foldable. This makes it easy to carry in your bag if you need to swap out your shoes during the day or for travel, giving you more room in your suitcase for everything else. That in itself would make Tieks worth it for many people.

Tieks Price Point

Tieks are an investment, with prices typically ranging from $185 to just over $300, depending on the style and material. Each pair of Tieks is handcrafted, contributing to their quality, comfort, and higher cost. So, do the quality and comfort make Tieks worth the price?

My Tieks Review

First, I want to point out that the older I get, the more problems I have with my feet. I have arthritis in my feet, and it’s sometimes difficult to find shoes that won’t aggravate them. And, with flats, it gets trickier because if the top of the shoe cuts across my toe joints, they will be painful to wear.

Despite all the fun colors and wild prints, I ended up choosing the Tieks ballet flat in matte black. I know another pair of black shoes, but I picked black for two reasons: they’re timeless and will go with virtually anything.

It’s important to note that Tieks come in whole sizes, so if you’re a half size, they recommend sizing down unless you have a wide foot, in which case, size up. They have a great return and exchange policy to help you find the perfect fit.

Each pair of Tieks comes with a reusable nylon tote in their signature color. The tote unfolds into a travel bag, perfectly sized to store your favorite heels when you’re ready to switch into your comfortable flats. Tieks also gives you a compact storage pouch designed to compress your Tieks to the size of your hand, making it easy to take them with you during travel or anytime you need extra space.

I wear a size 9, and my Tieks fit perfectly. The soft and supple leather molds to your foot, and wearing them immediately feels as comfortable as wearing slippers. I was happy that the toebox hit right above my toe joints, so they were pain-free to wear. If you have a narrow foot and struggle with the back of your shoes slipping when you walk, you’ll love Tieks because the back is cushioned, so your heels don’t slip.

How I Wore My Comfortable Flats

I’ve been wearing my Tieks almost every day, from walking the pup to running errands to going out with friends. There was no breaking-in period, and my feet felt cushioned and supported, even when wearing them all day. They are one of the most comfortable pairs of flats I’ve worn.

Tieks’ classic style will transition seamlessly, whether you are dressing in everyday casual or business casual. I’ve paired them with a variety of outfits, from shorts and jeans to skirts and trousers. They’re a great option if you want one pair of shoes that go with almost everything.
