Happy Monday, Friends! Today I’m back with my style budget series and am sharing my April purchases. Instead of meeting a monthly budget, I have an annual amount that I subtract from each month. I have found this works better for me, and I have come out in the positive at the end of the year versus sometimes the negative every month. My clothing budget for 2023 is $1,800.
Do you keep a wardrobe wishlist? It helps you keep track of gaps in your closet and the pieces you might need to create outfits with your existing wardrobe. When I did my fall closet purge last year, I got purged most of my shorts. While they still fit me, they were low-rise. And, low-rise anything doesn’t work for me anymore. I’m very happy that high-rise styles are still on trend. So, shorts were number one on my wishlist, along with two items I had been stalking at Anthropologie.

My two Anthropologie purchases were splurges. I had been stalking the pleated top and printed pants for several months, so I immediately grabbed them when they finally went on sale. I’m lucky to have worked with Gibsonlook again, and the striped shorts suit is one of my favorite go-tos lately. It’s a nice change from a dress or skirt. As for my May wishlist, I don’t have my eye on anything, so it may be a shopping-free month.
