Is your closet filled with classic wardrobe essentials? They are the building blocks to having a versatile wardrobe. These classics have stood the test of time and make getting dressed easy, especially on those days when you stare into your closet and think, “I have nothing to wear.” Basics also help you curb spending because you have versatile pieces that never go out of style and that you can mix and match to make endless outfits. Here are ten of my tried and true pieces that have never let me down.
1 – Crisp White Button-Up
I reach for my white button-up when I don’t know what to wear. It’s probably one of the most worn items in my closet. This shirt goes with everything from workwear separates to jean shorts. If youโre looking for styling ideas, you can grab my free guide showing 24 ways to wear a white button-up here.

2 – Perfect Fitting Jeans
No wardrobe is complete without a pair of perfect-fitting jeans. There’s something about slipping them on that gives you an instant confidence boost. While distressed, raw hem and colored jeans are on trend, medium to dark-wash jeans are timeless options to have in your arsenal.

3 – Ponte Knit Joggers
Joggers combine coziness with versatility and are a great option for casual pants. You can easily dress them up to create a stylish outfit that you can wear almost everywhere, even in a business casual office environment. This pair of joggers is made of Ponte knit. The fabric is more structured and holds its shape, making it great for travel.

4 – Maxi Dress
Maxi dresses are a year-round staple for easy dressing and styling from day to night. The length elongates your body, and because they are usually flowy, they’re comfy to wear.

5 – Knit Crewneck Pullover
A knit pullover is another classic piece that can be worn in every season. Pair it with everything from jeans, trousers, skirts, and shorts; they basically go with everything.

6 – White Sneakers
White sneakers are versatile, comfortable, and they easily take your outfit to the next level. One of my favorite outfit uniforms is a dress with sneakers.
7 – White Tee
We can’t forget about a white tee. Not only does it go with everything, it provides a neutral backdrop for those statement pieces.
8 – Ballet Flats
Ballet flats have always been a timeless classic but theyโre also one of the biggest shoe trends this season. They complement everything from jeans to skirts and everything in between.
9 – Black Slipdress
Slip dresses are super versatile and flattering on every body type. Not only does this minimalist dress looks great on its own, but there are also endless possibilities for layering them. So you can take your dress from season to season.
10 – Blazer
A blazer is one of those items that can look very formal or very casual. It all depends on how you wear it. I reach for them more often than a cardigan because the style possibilities are endless. Not only are blazers a great layering piece for all seasons, but they instantly add polish to your outfit.
