I’m switching things up today, and instead of a fashion post, I’m excited to share some fall home decorating ideas with you! Decorating your home for the season doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. You can transform your living spaces into a warm and inviting fall haven with just a few simple updates. Letโs get started with my fall home tour and some easy ways to cozy up your space. And don’t worry, I’ll be back with a fashion post next Thursday!
Fall Home Decor
Front Porch
Your front porch is the first thing guests see, so why not make it as warm and welcoming as the rest of your home? Fall is all about earthy tones and natural elements, so think pumpkins, mums, and a cute seasonal wreath.
Pumpkins and Gourds: You donโt need a giant pumpkin patch to make an impact. Grab a few pumpkins in different shapes, colors, and sizes (mini ones are adorable!) and display them in a bowl or mini wagon like I did here. Or, create a focal point by stacking them near your door.
Fall Wreath: A wreath on the door is an easy way to add a seasonal vibe. You can check out my easy fall wreath tutorialsย hereย andย here. If DIY isn’t your thing, Hobby Lobby always has their fall decor on sale.
Florals & Plants: Adding potted plants like mums is another inexpensive way to get in the fall mood.
Living Room
When you walk into our home, the living room is one of the first rooms you see, so adding cozy touches to this space is a must.
Pillows and Throws: Swapping out your throw pillows and blankets is one of the easiest and most affordable ways to decorate your living room for fall. Opt for rich, warm tones like burnt orange, mustard yellow, and deep reds. The pumpkin pillows were a Costco find, and the fringe pillow covers were on clearance at Hobby Lobby.
Candles and Lanterns: Adding candles instantly makes any room feel warmer. Choose fall-scented candles like pumpkin spice, cinnamon, or apple cider to set the mood. Battery-operated candles in cute hurricanes are a great alternative, too.
Seasonal Floral, Candy Corn, and Copper Accents: Vases filled with faux fall floral stems make for a cute (and cheap) decorative touch. A bowl of candy corn is another simple way to bring fall colors into your decor. And if you have anything copper, bring it out; it adds warmth and a touch of rustic charm.
Dining Room
We rarely use our dining room, but it’s the other room you see right when you walk into our house, so I always add a few details to make it feel festive.
Centerpiece:ย I grabbed my rattan tray, garland, and a trio of candle holders and topped them with a candle and two orbs to make this simple yet colorful centerpiece.
DIY Pumpkin Spice Mug: I made this for under $5 with supplies (mug, straw, spackle, and cinnamon) from Dollar Tree.
Family Room
Our family room is our gathering room, where we watch TV and relax, and I want it to be as inviting as possible.
Fireplace Focus: If you have a fireplace, make it the focal point of your room. I added a copper sign and pumpkins on the mantel and hearth.
That’s a wrap! These fall home decorating ideas are simple and affordable. I hope this post inspired you to decorate your home for fall! Let me know in the comments your favorite fall decor pieces in your home!
