Hi friends! I was looking at the weather forecast for this weekend, and the temps will range from 9 to 12 degrees. Yikes! I don’t know about you, but when it’s cold outside, the last thing I want to do is dress up. But Christmas is here, and there are holiday events to attend. So what do you do when it’s freezing outside, and you still want to look festive? Don’t worryโI’ve got you covered! Today, I’m sharing two warm and festive outfit ideas.
Both outfits feature cozy chic sweaters and skirt combos. You can probably recreate these looks with items in your closet. They are perfect for any holiday gathering, whether a family dinner, a festive party, or Christmas Day.
Outfit Idea #1: fair isle Sweater + tulle skirt
Let’s start with a red Fair Isle sweater and tulle skirt. This look screams holiday cheer while keeping you warm and snug. I use this band over my sweaters to give a tucked-in look without the bulk. A red bow belt cinches the waist and creates a flattering silhouette. Tights and heeled sandals completed a polished and party-ready look, even if it’s snowing outside.
Outfit Idea #2: turtleneck Sweater + midi Skirt
If you’re looking for an elegant and cozy outfit, try this timeless combination: a turtleneck sweater and a midi skirt. Grab your favorite sweater and pair it with a black midi skirt. The result is effortlessly chic. I kept the red bow belt from the previous outfit to add a festive touch, and I opted for red flats and a black bow clutch to complete the look.
Festive Styling Tips
โข Play with Accessories: Accessories are your best friend when it comes to holiday dressing. Add a sparkly brooch to your sweater or wear a pair of glittery statement earrings. And don’t forget a red lip for that classic holiday look!
โข Layer Smartly: The key to staying warm is layering. Under your sweater, wear a cami, tissue turtleneck, or button-up, and under your skirt, wear fleece-lined tights or leggings.
โข Choose Warm Fabrics: Wool, cashmere, velvet, and fleece are all great options for staying warm without sacrificing style.
Which warm and festive outfit ideas are your favorite? What do you wear when it’s cold during the holidays? Let me know in the comments!
