Mondays hit hard when youโre not prepared, don’t you agree? I’ve always set aside a few hours on Sundays to reset for the week ahead. My Sunday reset routine includes house chores, self-care, and mentally preparing for the week ahead. It helps me feel organized and refreshed, and I start the new week feeling like I’ve already accomplished something. Hereโs my typical Sunday.
Why a Sunday Reset is a Game-Changer
I used to roll into Monday feeling stressed and overwhelmed, but having a Sunday routine has made such a difference.
- When you know whatโs coming, you donโt have that โoh crap, I forgot about thatโ moment.
- When youโve got a plan, itโs easier to stay focused instead of wasting time figuring out what to do next.
- Planning meals and workouts ahead of time makes it way easier to stay on track.
- A clean space and a clear to-do list make you feel more in control.
My Sunday Reset Routine
Start with movement
I take my pup to our neighborhood doggie playdate every Sunday morning. Before I go, I usually do a 20 – 30 minute yoga workout through the Peloton app. Stretching and deep breathing help me feel more awake and centered. Plus, itโs a nice way to ease into the day without rushing.
tidy up
I dust and vacuum my office, closet, and bedroom and hang/put away any clutter in my closet. I also change the sheets and bathroom towels. Something about having a clean space and getting into a bed with fresh sheets on Sunday night helps me fall asleep instantly.

Meal Planning
Meal planning is probably the most helpful part of my reset, especially now that my husband and I work until 5 pm. I have a lot of recipes saved on a Pinterest board that I pick from. We jot down a few easy meals, check whatโs in the fridge, and make a grocery list. Knowing what we’re going to eat helps avoid that last-minute โwhatโs for dinner?โ panic (and cuts down on takeout). I try to keep it simpleโmixing up a few easy staples so I donโt have to think too hard.
Calendar and To-Do List
I sit down with my planner and look at whatโs coming up – appointments, work commitments, and social plans. I then make a to-do list with the top three things I need to get done during the week. Having it all laid out keeps me from feeling like Iโm forgetting something and helps me stay on track without getting overwhelmed. I also plan out my workouts for the week. Nothing fancy, just deciding what my strength and cardio workouts will look like. Having a plan makes it easier to stay consistent.

Self-Care Time
Self-care Sundays are a ritual for me and my favorite part of my routine. I do a series of face masks and relax with a book. I usually do a brightening mask, then a deep-cleansing mask, followed by a hydrating one. This little self-care window helps me decompress and mentally shift from weekend mode to โready for the weekโ mode.
