Teddy Bear Coat Outfit
Every time I wander into Francesca’s, I come out with an unbelievable deal! I was shopping with my daughter after Christmas, and all of their sale items were buy one, get one for $1. So, I was able to score two teddy bear coats for $35 out the door! The other jacket is a cropped teddy coatย with an open front that’s more of a layering piece than outerwear.
Anyway, I thought good timing for The Blended Blog’s Wednesday style prompt, Show Us Your Winter Outerwear!ย My teddy bear coat is plush but not too fluffy and roomy enough to wear a bulky sweater under it. It checks all of the boxes for warm, cute, and cozy! When the temps get into single digits, I’ll wear my down Marmot, but it’s nice to have something to throw on for a “warmer” winter day!
What is a Teddy Bear Coat?
Teddy bear coats are a mix of faux fur and fleece, resembling the texture of a cozy and fuzzy teddy bear. They come in a variety of styles but are usually plush, like sherpa, or fluffy like faux fur. Teddy bear coats have been a popular winter fashion trend the past few seasons, and you can easily wear them to create a timeless look. Whether it’s pairing with booties or snow boots, here are tips to rock your teddy bear coat in four easy steps!
How to Rock Your Teddy Bear Coat
Layer Up with a Solid Colored Shirt or Sweater
When styling a teddy bear coat, adding some layers is one of the best ways to make your outfit look chic and sophisticated. Pick an oversized crew neck sweater or solid-colored shirt to layer under your teddy bear coat. This will add shape and structure to your overall outfit and help create a nice balance between the two pieces.
Personalize Your Outfit with a Hat
Hats are versatile and often overlooked accessories when it comes to styling a teddy bear coat. They can add some personality to your outfit while providing extra warmth in cold weather. Try out different colors and styles until you find the perfect one, like a wide-brimmed fedora or a cozy beanie.
Wear Your Favorite Winter Shoes or Boots
Any shoe or boot goes with a teddy bear coat – you obviously want to make sure your feet stay warm and dry. Ugg, Bean boots, combat-style boots, or ankle booties can provide you with the function and style you need for your teddy bear coat outfit.
Add Accessories to Balance Out Your Look
You’ll want to add accessories to complete your teddy bear coat outfit. Balancing the volume of your oversized coat can be achieved by adding pieces with a slimmer shape or texture – think slim jewelry, polished bags, and tailored accessories to finish your look. Scarves can also be a great way to break up the bulkiness of the coat and add colors or prints, whether youโre going for a casual or fancy look!
