My First Stitch Fix Box Review March 2016

I enjoy shopping, and while I’ve always been curious about Stitch Fix, I didn’t think it would be for me because it would take away from something I like to do. Still, I do like the element of surprise of what you have someone shop for you, so I thought I’d give it a try! Today I’m sharing what was inside my first Stitch Fix Box and my review.

What is Stitch Fix?

If your not familiar with Stitch Fix, it’s a personal shopping service that shops for you and delivers five pieces of clothing and/or accessories to your door. You can schedule your deliveries monthly or whenever you choose. The charge for the monthly styling fee is $20. If you decide not to keep anything, you send it back in a prepaid envelope and are charged the styling fee. If you keep one or more pieces, the $20 styling fee is credited towards your purchase, and if you purchase all five pieces, you receive a 25% discount. You can check out Stitch Fix yourself by clicking my referral link here. Let’s get started on my first Stitch Fix box review!

My Stitch Fix Box Review

#1 Jes Keyhole Blouse $48 and #2 Mavi Freida Skinny Jeans $98

Jes Keyhole Blouse from Stitch Fix

Jes Keyhole Blouse

First up is this blue and white print top from Fun2Fun. I loved the keyhole front and cut out detail in the back. It’s the perfect everyday top you can dress up for work or down with jeans. While I liked it, it didn’t wow me. Verdict:ย Returned.

Next up are these Mavi skinny jeans. They fit like a glove, are the perfect length, and have a stretch to them, so it almost feels like you are wearing leggings. I didn’t have any dark wash jeans, so these were a keeper. Verdict: Kept.

#3 Twila Faux Shearling Jacket $74

My first impression was this is a keeper. The sleeves and back are knit and the front faux suede lined with fleece. It’s super soft and drapes nicely and can be worn with a top and jeans or over a dress with boots. I didn’t think I would get much use out of it until next fall with spring right around the corner. Verdict: Returned.

ย #4 Myah Cowl Neck Pullover $68 and #5 Mckay Fringe Detail Tote $64

cobalt blue cowl neck sweater from Stitch Fix

This cobalt blue sweater was gorgeous and cozy. I don’t have many cowl or turtleneck sweaters, but again, I wanted to invest my dollars on spring pieces with the weather warming up. Verdict: Returned.

The Mckay fringe detail tote was a perfect size, and it came with a zippered pouch. I have so many totes; it didn’t make sense to add another to my collection. Status: Returned.

Final Thoughts About Stitch Fix

There you have it, my first Stitch Fix box review! It’s still cold here, so it was packed with winter items, but I would have preferred to get pieces for spring. With that said, I love the idea of having a personal stylist pick things for me, and I did like the element of surprise when I got it in the mail. While it isn’t something I would do monthly, I think it would be fun to schedule a fix every few months! If you want to give Stitch Fix a try, click here to sign up!
