DIY Easter Carrot Wreath

Every year when spring rolls around, I get the urge to swap out the heavy winter decor for something lighter and a little more playful. This time, I wanted something fun for Easter that didn’t involve pastel overload. When I found these carrot picks at Michael’s, this DIY Easter Carrot Wreath came to life. It’s simple to make, and something a little different from the usual. Whether you’re decorating your front door or looking for something to hang indoors, this carrot wreath is a quick project that adds some personality without a lot of fuss.

Supplies You’ll Need

To make your own DIY Easter Carrot Wreath, here’s what you’ll need:

  • Wreath base (14–18 inches).
  • Faux greenery garland or stems
  • Twine wrapped carrots or carrot picks (I used six)
  • A small bunny or critter accent (optional, but adorable!)
  • Floral wire or hot glue gun (or get a wreath base like this one).
  • Scissors or wire cutters

You can find all of these items at your local craft store or online. I love mixing faux greenery with playful seasonal touches, and these twine carrots were just too cute to pass up.

How to Make a DIY Easter Carrot Wreath

STEP 1: PREP YOUR MATERIALS

Lay out all of your supplies and plug in your hot glue gun or get your floral wire ready. If your greenery is in garland form, cut it into sections to fit around the wreath base. This wreath base with the twist ties makes it even easier to attach the garland to the wreath form (no glue or floral wire needed)!

Step 2: Add the Greenery

Start by attaching greenery around the wreath base. I tucked mine right into the grapevine, but you can secure it with hot glue or floral wire if it needs more hold. Keep it a little loose and natural—this isn’t meant to look too perfect.

Step 3: Place the Carrots

Once you’re happy with your greenery placement, space out your carrots and glue them in place. I angled mine a bit and kept them clustered toward the bottom half for balance.

Step 4: Add a Bunny or Critter (Optional)

This step is completely optional, but I couldn’t resist adding a little hedgehog peeking out from the bottom of the wreath. It adds personality and makes it feel extra festive.

Step 5: Fill in Any Gaps

Take a step back and check for any empty spots. Fill in with more greenery or reposition anything that looks off. That’s it!

    Above a Mantel or Shelf
Anchor your spring mantel display by hanging the wreath above it, then layer in coordinating carrots, bunnies, or greenery below.

In a Gallery Wall or Frame
Add your wreath to a gallery wall of spring prints or hang it inside an empty picture frame for a dimensional look.

    On a Window
Use a clear suction hook to hang it in front of a sunny window.

    As Part of a Centerpiece
Lay the wreath flat on a table and place a large candle or vase of tulips in the center for an easy, eye-catching centerpiece.

This DIY Easter Carrot Wreath is a simple and fun project that adds a fresh twist to spring decorating. It took me less than 30 minutes to assemble, and it brings a little bit of fun to my home. Let me know if you make one—I’d love to see how you put your spin on it.

      11. This wreath is so cute and looks easy to do!

      12. I love this wreath, Jill! Making wreaths is one of my favorite thing to do. I usually use grapevine wreaths so I don't have to fill in as much. I made the mistake, though, of storing mine in the attic so all the hot glued things came off. Oops! Once I get them fixed, into the "basement" they'll go. Thanks for sharing how to work with one of those wreath frames…I've never used one before!
